So, what is Sprouted Consciousness?
That’s a great question. My husband and I began making our transition into becoming vegan in early 2018. Before that we were vegetarian, but had both eaten our share of meat in our lives. Going vegan was of course partly because of the health benefits. But the longer we embraced this new way of living, the more we learned about its incredible impact on the environment. We have learned, and continue to learn, so much and we want to share the knowledge with others.
No, this will not be a blog where we try to convert the world to being vegan, however we will share opinions, be open minded, and honestly just try to start a conversation. So why Sprouted Consciousness? Because not only has our diet become that of a “sprouted” variety, but it has also opened up our minds and we have become so much more aware of how truly big of an impact we have on our environment, just by the choices we make on a daily basis.
Here at Spross, we want to share a big variety of content, and we have a lot of ideas!We will be sharing information about how what we eat affects our environment in a massive way. We will be sharing tips about how to eat less meat/dairy in your daily life and why it’s not only good for the environment, but also your own health. Along with that, we will be sharing valuable nutrition information about what important nutrients we get from certain foods.
We will be sharing information about the products we (and you) use every single day, and what is really in those products. Many people don’t read the labels of the items they buy, and I’m not just talking about food. And sometimes, even when we do read them, we don’t know what half of the stuff is! We will be posting information about every day products and what is really in those products. We think it’s so important to know what you are putting in and on your body. We will also recommend products that we love to use.
We will sometimes share content that is not so easy to read, but is the reality of the world that we live in. However, it is our promise here at Spross, to never share any disturbing images or footage. We use our words here, and think that words are just as powerful a tool. Again, we aren’t here to convert anyone, we just want to inform others and open up a dialogue.
We will sometimes have Guest Bloggers here at Spross, where people can share interesting information they have learned, interesting articles and opinions! You could be featured on our blog!
We hope to eventually also start a YouTube channel that we can link to this blog, in hopes of opening up the conversation even more with the public. We want to change the world for the better, but we can’t do that alone. We want to not only start the conversation, but also start the change!
And, of course, we will be sharing some of our favorite recipes! We like to keep our vegan diet fun, budget-friendly, and delicious! Danielle is a sucker for anything creamy, so there will be plenty of savory vegan comfort food recipes! We also really love to bake, so not only will we share lots of savory lunch/dinner meals, but also the yummy desserts for all you with a sweet tooth out there!
Anything else you should know?
The most important thing to us is starting a conversation. We will have an option to subscribe to our blog so you get an email any time we post something new. We will try to be as responsive as possible to any and all comments on our posts, because that’s what it’s all about! We will open up opportunities to all of you out there who want to be a Guest Blogger here at Spross!
